C
EL on wife’s car (Infiniti Q50, 2016) come on yesterday with
no apparent issues while driving
. Code came back as P26A3 - “
Engine Coolant Bypass Valve Range/Performance.” Can she keep driving it until we can take it to the shop, or should she park it until then?

I’d park it at the dealership/mechanic until it’s fixed. I don’t know anything about that code, specifically, or how it applies to Nissans, but I do know that no coolant flow is bad.

As long as the car isnt overheating it should be fine. The valve allows for coolant to bypass the thermostat if it is not open. Probably getting stuck or being dumb. Best to get it looked at soon.

“Engine coolant flow is controlled by a Multi-way Control Valve. This is a motordriven valve that integrates the thermostat and a water control valve. It can control the flow of coolant to the radiator, heater and oil cooler (as applicable).”
Idk, sounds moderately important. Spendy part though.

Depends on where the coolant is and isn’t flowing . If it’s still going through the radiator, but not the heater core, then no worries. The other way around and you can nuke the motor.
